Video: So, How About Last Night’s Episode Of The Voice?

Gearing up for the finale, it’s been a full-on southern takeover on NBC’s The Voice.  In the final four, we have two singers from Texas, one from Alabama, and one from Louisiana!  With a such a heavy southern influence, country classics dominated last night’s show, with a few surprises as well.

The first to take the stage is Frisco, Texas native Maelyn Jarmon, with John Legend produced original song “Wait For You.”  She performed this epic ballad in a stunning purple ensemble alongside a full-on drum circle.

After this is our first coach/performer duet with Blake Shelton and Alvarado, Texas native Andrew Sevener covering the classic Free song “All Right Now.” Shelton starts the two off strong, but Sevener’s voice and stage presence definitely steal the show.

Up next is Fayette, Alabama native Dexter Roberts, with a jaw-dropping cover of Randy Houser’s “Anything Goes”.

Next up, we get another team-Shelton performance, as he shares the stage with Singer, Louisiana’s very own Gyth Rigdon. The two take on The Eagle’s “Take It Easy.”  While lacking the energy of Andrew Sevener’s performance, Ridgon’s harmonies are bar-none.

After those covers, we get another original track, this time from Alvarado, Texas’ very own Andrew Sevener.  The 27-year old’s original song “Rural Route Raising” could be the next big country classic!

Upon return from commercial break, we get another performance from Maelyn, this time alongside coach John Legend.  The two sing Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable” alongside a full-on orchestra.

Gyth Ridgon takes the stage again with a very subtle, but powerful cover of Earl Thomas Conley’s “Once in a Blue Moon.”

Dexter Roberts returns to the stage to give us his original song “Looking Back.”

Taking the stage once again after that is Andrew Sevener.  Breaking out of his country roots a little, Andrew takes on Hinder’s “Lips of an Angel.”  His strong voice definitely shines through in this power ballad.

Country takes over once again with a cover of Brooks & Dunn’s “Hard Workin’ Man” by Blake and Dexter.  The two combined put a lot of fun energy into the song.

After another commercial break, we return with Singer, Louisiana native Gyth Ridgon’s song “Proof I’ve Always Loved You.”   Even with country influence, this track has great crossover appeal, and could give the pop charts a run for their money.

The last song of the night is another cover, this time by Maelyn Jarmon.  She gives us a very haunting rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

With all these strong performances, who do you think will take home the title on tonight’s episode?
