Our listener doesn’t want to jump to conclusions, but she thinks her roommate is a prostitute. Lately there as been a lot of unexplained activity at their home.

Here’s her email:

I’d be way to nervous about coming on the air but would still love the expertise of someone in your audience that might have an idea or insight. This is most definitely new territory for me and not a situation I have ever been in before LOL. To be blunt… I think my roommate is a prostitute. I could be wrong but if she is, I’d like to know because I don’t want to be around it.

However, if I am wrong…I don’t think falsely accusing someone of prostitution is something you can get beyond. So, obviously, I don’t know her that well. There are 3 of us in the house. Our former 3rd roommate moved in with her boyfriend but found someone to take over her part of the lease. This girl is basically an acquaintance of an acquaintance. She’s only been with us for a month. We don’t see her that often. Her bedroom is downstairs and right next to the door to garage.

So, she comes in and out and we often go days without seeing her. What’s weird is she is always home during the day but leaves at night. We have had no idea what she did for money but she always seems to have plenty. At first we assumed her parents give it to her but then she recently mentioned that she doesn’t speak to them. We knew she had guys come home with her but for a while we thought it was same person. She always came home when we’d already be upstairs and we’d just hear voices.

However, in the morning, there would never be anyone with her. Then, recently, we started staying up late and looking out the window to see who she is coming in with and it hasn’t been the same guy twice. It’s always different guys…some our age and some much older. My other roommate is convinced that she is a prostitute. However, she just isn’t anything like what I thought a prostitute was like.

Is there another explanation? How do I find out? I don’t really want to be living in a house where something like that is going on. Even if she did it somewhere else, I don’t know that I want her for a roommate.
