Her best friend’s brother WON’T stop hitting on her…even though she’s turned him down time and time again. How does she SHUT. IT. DOWN. without ruining her friendship with her best friend? Things are getting really awkward…and she can’t avoid him forever without cutting her friend out of her life (which is not an option).

So I have an issue. I don’t know how to really say it but my best friend’s brother is hitting on me. Hard. This has been my best friend for going on 9 years. I’m 23 now so since high school which means he’s been through during my awkward teenage phase. I even have been there since his daughter was in embryo. (She’s now 7).
My best friend has told me jokely that he and their mom have talked about us getting together but of course we always laughed it off. She’s talked about how awkward it would be. He’s like a brother to me. I even call their mom “mom.” He is persistent in asking me out. It’s only been going on for a day but every time I mention how weird it would be and not wanting to ruin my friendship with my best friend, he talks about how it could work.
I need help with letting him down but without making it super awkward in the future. My best friend and her brother lives together so if I go see my best friend and her son (who I’m very close with), I will probably see him. I just need advice on how to resolve this with it possibly not being awkward af.
